Product Warranties

Hardware Product Warranty
CMI Fleet Management hardware products come with a 1-year factory warranty as described in the 0810-002 Warranty Specification. This warranty service is performed by CMI repair technicians at our corporate headquarters in Enfield, CT. A Return Materials Authorization (RMA) form is required before the return can be accepted. This warranty service can be requested online, by calling 1-800-527-4998, or by sending an email to service@controlmod.com.

Software Warranty
CMI Fleet Management software products come with a 90-day warranty as described in the Software License Terms document. This warranty service is performed on-site by CMI Technical Support technicians at our corporate headquarters in Enfield, CT. This warranty service can be requested online, by calling 1-888-753-8222, or by sending an email to techsupport@controlmod.com.

Extended Warranty Plans
CMI Fleet Management recommends purchasing an extended warranty plan when placing an order, which typically saves customers time and ownership costs. You can purchase one of our maintenance programs upfront at a discount for seamless product coverage.


Return Authorization Requirements

The CMI Service Center assigns a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number for all products returned for service. If you have a product that requires service, you will need to contact our Service Center at 1-800-527-4998, or 1-860-253-4218, or service@controlmod.com.

The following information is required to process the return:

  • Model and serial number of product
  • Brief description of problem
  • Name and telephone number of your technical contact
  • Customer’s return address
  • Customer’s billing address
  • Purchase order authorization

Shipping Instructions
After an RMA number is issued, please return the product in a shock-proof package to the CMI Service Center. Please ensure the RMA# is clearly marked on the outside of the package.

The CMI Service Center provides several service options including:

  • Maintenance – Annual (5-day in-house turnaround)
  • Incident Maintenance (5-day in-house turnaround)
  • Time & Material (2-, 5- or 10-day turnaround)
